Van Horn's Pecan Dessert Contest Yesterday!

Yesterday, Van Horn held their 4th annual Pecan Dessert Contest at the historic Hotel El Capitan.

Judges:  Chef Jacob Dorris, Robert Morales, Nina and Kyle Brookshire

Winners!  Our first place winner was Lourdes Munoz of Van Horn  She won with her Pumpkin Spice Jar Cake!   Pictured here is (L) Chef of the Historic Hotel El Capitan, Alessandro Donnatelle with his third place entry, Pecan Pie Cake  and (R) Bob Kinford, second place winner with his Orange Pecan Pie.

Judges were Kyle and Nina Brookshire local pecan farmers, Van Horn Advocate editor/publisher Robert Morales,
and the chef of the Van Horn Cattle Co., Jacob Dorris.
