Bravo, Marfa!

Just your typical spectacular sunset taken on Highland Avenue, Marfa's main street. If you haven't experienced a mind-blowing West Texas sunset, you haven't lived!

Just another beautiful sunset...can you see Chinati Peak?

One of our region's assets is our unspoiled landscape, clear bright skies and unencumbered views...what better way to relax, forget your troubles, and leave the noise of the city behind?!?

One of our typical autumn sunsets, seen north of Marfa....but if you look closely, you can see Chinati Peak at the horizon.

(click on the photo for a closer view!)

Bonus Video!  One of our volunteers, the El Paso Troubadour, sings his own composition...sit and listen awhile and watch photos of Big Bend, Van Horn and other parts of our Far West Texas!

Yesterday, a rare rainy day!

Paisano Pass on the road from Alpine to Marfa
Last night's rainy sunset in Marfa
The past few years have been dry with drought, but this year we've been blessed with more rain.  Yesterday, it rained all day long, and we know that soon the desert will respond with green growth.

Kern Place Sunset

Last night we happened to be in the historic Kern Place area of El Paso, just in time for a great sunset.  We know we often post rural skies, and wanted to show you our biggest city also hosts grand sunsets, too.

The Kern Place area, just north of UTEP, was the first suburb in El Paso, dating to 1914.  Now in the center of the city, the area has gracious homes, many built with local rock.  The history of the area is outlined on Wikipedia, here.

Soft April Sunset

Taken along Hwy 17 between Marfa and Fort Davis last year....it was too pretty not to post now that April is back again!

Sunset at Sauceda

We have such terrific skies in the Texas Mountains, and one of the best places to catch a spectacular sunset is in the center of Big Bend Ranch State Park, at Sauceda.
