Van Horn's Hotel El Capitan reopened this weekend, again joining the list of historic hotels in the Texas Mountain Trail region. It first opened in 1930, a work of the regionally notable architects, Henry Trost. One of the last remaining examples of the Pueblo Revival Style--perhaps the last in the state--the El Capitan served cattleman and was Van Horn's premier hotel for many years....and this weekend, it is again.
