Trappings of Texas at the Museum of the Big Bend


 Trappings of Texas, the Museum of the Big Bend's most important annual events celebrates its opening weekend in Alpine, February 20-22, and the public exhibition runs from February 22-April 13.  Here's a preview of some of the highlights:

From Rex Crawford of Walsh, Colorado,
is this set of Las Cruces Style Bit Candle Holders
fashioned from sterling silver and steel.
 
Wayne Franklin of Cotulla, Texas, is entering this set of
sterling silver "Cowtown Saturday Night" pistol grips
that fit a Colt 1911 Auto or any other
1911 manufacturer for Trappings of Texas

Stewart Williamson of Portales, New Mexico, made nice set of spurs
fashioned from 4130 steel that are hand engraved
with sterling silver and copper overlay
