This week, the
Texas Mountain Trail hosted the statewide meeting of the 10 heritage trails regions, coordinated by the
Texas Historical Commission. We want to thank the town of
Van Horn and its people for their hospitality, with a special thanks to the historic
Hotel El Capitan for providing meeting space for us for three days.
The Hotel is a participant in our
cycle-friendly program, and is the anchor for the
El Capitan to El Capitan Heritage Bike Route! It is also a popular lodging choice for travelers heading to
Guadalupe Mountains National Park.
